| History of Iva's Flower Shop |
 With family roots deep into the North Texas soil, Iva Elrod Snell took a leap of faith ( and a fair amount of determination) and jumped into Arlington's business community. The seed was planted when she purchased the property at 305 E. Front Street and on May 6, 1955, the door to Iva's Flower Shop opened for business.
A short 6 days later on May 12 , 1955 . Alice (Snell) & Harold Biggs welcome a healthy baby boy into the world, Carl Dwayne Biggs.
Carl was working in the business at 15 years old and by 1974, Carl, then only 19, and Iva entered a partnership. They incorporated, and moved the business to Wooland West area of Arlington. As Carl stepped into the roll of managing day-to-day operations, Iva began looking foward to more leisure interests. Although continuing to work full time for another 8 years, Iva officially retired in 1982.

 After 27 years at Woodland West, Iva's moved to its current location at 2400 West Poineer Parkway. The new location has provided increased space and visibility, as well as allowing the shop to remain in the same neighborhood it's called "home" for so many years. |
